This year’s Lunar New Year design for Georges River Council celebrates the Year of the Dragon—a symbol with particular significance for the Georges River area. The dragon, central to the Council’s logo, represents strength and prosperity, creating a meaningful connection to the local community. This year also marked 21 years of Georges River hosting one of Sydney’s largest Lunar New Year festivals, making the celebration even more special.
The design incorporates patterns inspired by the countries that traditionally celebrate Lunar New Year, including China, Korea, and Vietnam, highlighting the diversity of these global celebrations and honouring each culture’s unique artistic heritage. Traditional red and gold were chosen as the primary colours, symbolizing luck, joy, and prosperity.
This cohesive visual identity was applied across print and digital assets, including posters, social media posts, billboards, signage, stage banners, installations, and event barriers
