Mr Booch is a boutique brand based in Wollongong specialising in premium kombucha on tap and kombucha gelato.
Following the amalgamation of Georges River Council, I undertook the important task of creating a strong brand which best reflects the new organisation but also the local area and its people. After extensive consultation with council staff and the community, the design of the dragon was born. The project was a great example of staff collaboration, which also demonstrated their commitment to making Georges River the best performing Council in NSW. The dragon references the legend of Saint George, representing Council’s connection with the wider St George area and its aim to be a positive leader for change. The Port Jackson fig leaf represents our Indigenous peoples and their connection to country. The forward facing dragon rising up from the fig leaf acknowledges the Aboriginal people as the first people of Australia and recognises that our future is always informed by our past. The teal represents the Georges River itself, an integral part of the region serving as a food source for traditional owners, a transport route for early industry and a place for leisure activities.
Centered around sustainability, Bush to Bowl educates and engages the local community, schools and businesses on the use of traditional indigenous food, native gardens and taking care of the local land.
